National Education day
Bharat Ratna, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, an Indian Scholar, Islamic theologian, Independence Activist and the first Education minister of Independent India (1947-1958).
On September 11, 2008, the Ministry of Human Resource Development decided to celebrate November 11, his birth anniversary, as National Education Day by recalling his contribution to the cause of education in India.
Maulana Azad also played a major role in the establishment of the University Grants Commission (UGC), and was also responsible for establishing the first Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the country.
Let's follow the footsteps of this great son of India and commit ourselves to the cause of education, even in the face of adversity.
